MANHATTAN THEATRE CLUB

On June 13th a few students from Ms. Perez’s class were able to see their hard work come to life by professional actors. Write on the Edge (‘WrOTE’) provides a uniquely empowering opportunity for students to bring their work to Life. Students develop original scripts inspired by a Manhattan Theatre Club production, which they studied. A team of professional actors, a Teaching Artist/director, and a classroom teacher supervise the writing process. The project culminates in the professional actors’ performance of the student’s work.

It was engaging and funny to see how each student’s true character showed through their original scripts. I was able to identify students’ normal behavior through the characters they wrote about.
