Camera-shy to Shutterbugs
Briana Ellis-Gibbs, a photographer and facilitator from Press Pass NYC recently visited JSK to share some tips about photography, copyright, etc.
The engagement overall from start to finish was very high, a lot of students were participating during the session, asking questions to get a better understanding of things they were being taught, and doing activities such as finding proper photos for a hypothetical news story.
She taught students a lot about photography, the rules to taking a photo for instance, and even having students take a couple of photos themselves to see what it’s really like. Furthermore, she also taught students about copyright, and what images they can or cannot use in the articles that they produce. She provided examples of sites that can be used such as Unsplash, or Pexels.
Overall, the session was highly engaging and enjoyable, and the students of JSK would love to thank her for her time at JSK!
