On October 16, some of the JSK students journeyed to Manhattan to view the ‘Great Elephant Migration’. This installation showed students the beauty of one of the animals that live among us and also conveyed a valuable message.
This great elephant migration installation is one of the largest outdoor art installations in NYC. This installation was one of the largest to be put in NYC. The elephants in this installation are stretched mostly along Ninth Ave. Each elephant is unique, they are a replica of the real elephants that live on plantations in southern India. In addition to their unique each elephant also has different shaped ears so it’s easy to tell them apart. Two hundred Artisans in India spent several years making these sculptures to show a big message. That animals and humans can live together in the same place.
