On October 17th, students had the chance to go to a college fair. This fair allowed students to see what colleges were available and what they had to offer. Every student has challenges that they have to face but this college fair showed them different opportunities and paths that they can take. Students were able to talk to representatives personally. Discuss application processes, see financial aid, state grants, and scholarship information, and ask about ACT, SAT, and other entry assessments.
There were 30 different sets up, 13 CUNY’s, 8 SUNY’s, and 3 universities. In addition to the colleges, there were opportunities like the Navy and Marines, NYS troopers, NYADI, correction department, and FDNY-Ems.
This college fair also showed students program offerings, if going to a SUNY, that is tuition free like Security Guard Registration training, Home health aide, and OSHA 30/SST.
